Any one else feel f offed with the quality and standard of the games the developers are pumping out reviews are biased depending on what system they favour some games are fine on xbox but unplayable on PS3 what gives, they over hype the games and once you have been suckered into the media hype 2013 i wait with baited breath to see what flops or wins, i would love to be game reviewer or tester and give an honest review of the lastest poop they are going to throw us

This is very true. There is a lot of marketing for games that end up being a bit shite. But, unfortunately, it has always been that way. For every overhyped game (Duke Nukem, for example) there are also some real gems (Sleeping Dogs).
It really is a matter of taste i guess. As an example, i picked up Aliens CM today. I did this due to the fact of loving the franchise. I am enjoying it but it is being panned by the reviewers. I guess that that is the way it always will be.
Another one i love is Far Cry 3. The single player is brilliant, but i also really enjoy the multiplayer. I have invested more time in the multiplayer on it than i have on any other FPS game over the last 5 years (Apart from BF3 that is)

I think the main problem is that the consoles are nearing the end of their cycle and the developers are unwilling to pump a lot of money and time into games for this system when the new ones are coming out soon.

For the next year or so it will be the same but when we get 6-12 months into the next consoles then the quality of games will increase and I think their will be a lot more innovation.

I think we will see some new IP's on the next consoles like we did for this generation.

The first 6-12 months will be overlap mode where games are released on 360 and 720 (or what it will be called). I also note the current systems are now having difficulty with newer games, dare I say Skyrim on PS3!

As a PC gamer as well, I've been able to play these games with the resrtictions removed and they do look good, although COD games look really dated now. Activision have got away with it on current systems as 360 / PS3 cant do Battlefield 3's graphics properly (compared to my desktop or laptop) if they could COD would look really poor in comparison

some companies have flat out said they are not releasing any new ips until the next gen consoles come out.

i am hoping colonial marines is good matt, though it is looking a little dated in the videos i have seen.

speaking of next gen consoles, who will be moving on? i will defo be in line for xbox..but some of the secs i am seeing are a little worrying.. gddr3 ram. even my radeon 7970 on my pc has gddr5 and it is almost a year old.

looks like PS4 will be a raw gaming machine which i like the thought of.

willow i understand what you are saying.. been buying pc games instead of 360 games and they look so much better... but have missed not having anyone to play with..

the new gen of consoles will be able to run bf3 on ultra...but my question is how long till ultra settings now are not so hot with the advent of new tech.

think the frostbite 2 engine is the nuts at the mo, lets see how the 4th incarnation of unreal does.

its also claimed the new xbox has 32 MB of memory embedded into the graphics chip (lots of speed and bandwidth!) to make up for the lack of speed of the main memory.

As Righteous said ALIEN CM got slated 2.5 out of 10 aint good i preordered it and it arrived today as a bday present mrs said send it back but i dont believe half of the reviews MOH warfighter was slated i enjoyed the sp BLK OPS 2 I gave up thought it was poop

I said for ages that I wouldn't be buying a console on launch again, but I just imagine the new Xbox launching with a few things.
Obviously this is just an example but just get into my mindset for a minute....
Here's your new console sir, it has the best graphics on any console, it has Skype, a new and improved Xbox live service. Also in the bag in the new battlefield 4 game, FIFA 14, Grand Theft Auto 5 and Rainbow Six Patriots. Plus your second controller.

i got diddled buying a PS3 just after release and it barely gets used. This was mainly because i was working with Nick (Retro) at the time and he persuaded me to move to xbox - i never locked back cos i found adecent bunch f lads to game with, something i missed having on the PS3.

Having said i wouldnt buy at release again, i rethought it as im single so have a bit of disposable income, i ve upgraded my tv to a top of the range samsung and i enjoy my gaming a lot (even if i have spells of not playing for a month or two). why not have a higher spec console to match?

i guess i will probably stick with the xbox but you never know.....

Yeah willow the new 360 has that embedded 'flash' ram to help with the bandwith, but it will alos mean it will be more complicated than the PS4 to program 4 so that worries me straight away..

8 core AMD processor ( unless they are better than their current desktop offering I am again worried).

The 8G memory is good, though no idea why they didn't go GDDR5.
