Re: Playstation 4 or Xbox One?
For me its PlayStation 4.
Xbox looks great but this entire fee to play second hand games, has to go online once a day, TV stuff only in USA at launch stuff has put me off it quite a bit.
I will get both eventually but only because the wife has said that she will buy me a console for Christmas, so I shall buy the PS4 on release and get the Xbox as a pressie.

Re: Playstation 4 or Xbox One?
PS4, too much talk about TV which probably wont be in the UK at first like TVii on the Wii U (yes it still does not work!)
the fuss about 2nd hand games that has got MS into a spin apparently to unlock the game on a different account could cost you as much as the game brand new! http://www.computerandvideogames.com/407912/microsoft-confirms-pre-owned-fee-for-xbox-one/
it does look as if you do have a 2nd account on your console they can also play that game like XBLA games
Xbox One info seems to be in a bit of a mess, and PS4 is more powerful, yes Xbox One uses the slower DDR3 memory

Re: Playstation 4 or Xbox One?
xbox one for me, i have more friends on xbl, the chat system actually works and i cant justify buying 2 consoles at the same time - ps3 put me off, maybe i will buy a ps4 later but certainly not at launch.
as for specs, if i wanted high spec i would buy a custom built pc, however specs aren't the be all and end all to me - playability is more important.

Re: Playstation 4 or Xbox One?
we don't know what the chat system is like on PS4 as of yet? as for games looks like the PS4 is the winner as indie devs abandon Xbox One so PS4 will likely have the better games, I was very disappointed with the Xbox One reveal, MS usually mess up every other version, usually in software but it may have moved to hardware now
As of now I will reserve judgement until I see more at E3

Re: Playstation 4 or Xbox One?
but willow, your basing your opinion on the rumors of the ps4 where i based mine on the current formats. we wont know till both consoles are out i guess.
im not being a fan boy, i just prefer xbox to ps3 and i was a release buyer of the ps3! i will only be able to buy one or the other at release, my gut feeling is to go with what i know - the spec isnt the issue to me - its ease of use which for me on the current generation is xbox (also i dont really play many games so arent too worried on that side)
this discussion will no doubt go on till we have all bought both consoles

Re: Playstation 4 or Xbox One?
with E3 soon we will find out more about the systems, latest rumours say MS may charge £35 for 2nd hand games, I wonder if they are floating ideas and seeing if people like them or not
personally I'm not keen on the Kinect, bought one only used it a few times, so not sure if I will like the new one
not all I say is based on rumours, some of the 2nd hand stuff is from MS themselves, the shocking thing is the amount of people saying they will not get the next Xbox, and PS4 does have a headset connection on the controller now
fun fact, Wii U sales up 800% on amazon uk after Xbox One announcement! Is that good or bad for MS
I will buy both systems, already have a Wii U!! £200 with 2 games, not bad! But PS4 is likely to get priority for me based on what has been said.
E3 will be critical for both companies really that is where the war starts proper!

Re: Playstation 4 or Xbox One?
I will wait to see how this 2nd hand thing pans out, if it turns out you have to pay stupid amounts of money to play 2nd hand games I will more than likely get the PS4 over the Xbox One.
Saying that, getting a PC in July, I probably won't even be getting the new console on release probably within the first few months however!

Re: Playstation 4 or Xbox One?
you won't be charged full price for the second hand game, But to be fair the amount of times I have seen a second hand game and gone on to buy it new for only a few pounds difference lol.
MS claim the chat on xbox will now be almost crystal clear.. and also the XBOX one is 5ghz wireless comatible so will be able to finally try out my superhub on 5 ghz lol.
not heard much at all about what Sony is doing with the PSN, so can't real;y comment on that.
