Now this also opens up the possibility of them selling it at a reduced price without the kinect. This could help you out shifty?!

If they do a version without kinect for launch, what one would you get? I would probably still get the kinect version as i would like to be able to use some of the voice commands to switch between games and apps etc. Plus ive been working a lot recently and including this week, i will have way more than enough for my one and games!

MS are a total mess, if they were a person they would be sectioned under mental health!

I can understand people when they say "MS are listening" but why get it so wrong in the first place then!

I just get the impression MS don't have a clue anymore, I'm sorry. That Steve Ballmer has constantly screwed up time and again which is why MS are in such trouble now.
Windows 8 is a flop, so are tablets based on windows 8, windows phone is also not doing well and the money maker for MS office and windows, sales are way down!

And willow this isn't another U-trun, MS said back in may you would be able to turn off kinect, but this is the first time they have detailed how you can do it.

Really do think you should consider cancelling your xbox preorder though.

They didn't get it wrong in my opinion,yes they went about presenting it wrong, but gamers seem to be stuck in the past with what they want from their consoles.

Xbox has a new boss, and since she has come in all I have seen is positives coming from that area of MS.

I don't want them to sell the one without kinect as it will deter developers from embracing it, and it will just become as gimmicky as the current kinect.

Really going to cancel your xbox one pre order becuase theyre making it "better"? Wheres the logic in that? I pre ordered mine just after the removal of the DRM stuff. Tbh i didnt know exactly what it meant entirely for the console because MS didnt explain it properly until it was taken away. The headset thing, great i dont have to buy one, helps me a lot. Self publishing, awesome as we will grt quite a few great games from small developers and new people. Kinect being able to be unplugged now, almost identical to it being off, big deal.

I am getting the Xbox One at launch no matter what now. Once i get paid after this week i will have enough money to buy my console, fifa 14, Battlefield 4 and a play and charge kit.

with my laptop issues still on going yes I am annoyed with MS  

short term they had had some reputation damage, but I believe the XBO will sell well and 6 months after launch most people would have forgot most of the issues, a bit like PS3 I suppose. which was a good system in the end after the dodgy start

360 had a year head start over PS3, XBO wont enjoy the same, could be interesting?

Personally if both sell around the same it would be great for the industry, they will have to compete.

im just looking at it in a positive light, its MS moving their own goal posts to suit the requirements of its users. I think they thought they had some good ideas but in reality its just not practical for some people to have a permanent internet connection or to install kinnect for various reasons.

We get this in the job i do, we release a car or tuck etc and have big plans, in reality you attract new customers and piss off some of the old ones. As the saying goes 'you cant please all of the people all of the time'.

we all have our opinions and im not a fanboy, is just PS made such a huge mess of the PS3 that my gut tells me to go with Xbox again this time around. Who knows though, i might end up with a PS4 nest year.....

to be fair while PS3 was a mess at the start it is not now, Sony was humbled, and that's why they had to make this new system user and developer friendly! I think sony became arrogant after PS2, which is why one company should not dominate the games industry!

both new systems should do well and there is only one winner, Gamers!
