you don't play them off the Bluray

http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/2013-11-11-early-xbox-one-users-detail-launch-game-install-sizes

interesting about COD, you need to install 51% of the game takes 10 minutes before you can play Ghosts. If that is true its similar to the PS4 which apparently can play in 10s of seconds or so and then install in the background. Its also possible that different games require a different % of install before use.

51% seems a large amount, maybe future games will require less install

Well with Killzone, you need to have 7GB done before you can play it with the install/download in the background. Don't think many people can get 7GB done in 10 seconds Willow, not even with the fastest of internet connections!

the time it takes to install doesnt bother me too much:

i have probably already waited 6 months for a games release, a few more minutes wont kill me.

i usually make a cuppa and walk the dog while it installs.

What I dont see is why if the games are installing onto the hard drive (im assuming this is do with the old DRM stuff) why cant it do one quick disk check and then do the quick snapping between apps and the game like you can with a game that is downloaded straight to the same hard drive that the disks install onto!

Really disappointed by this as I really like the option to be able to quickly change between games and apps etc. I know games will more than likely be same as the RRP but I can get them cheaper in disk form and then I wont have to wait ages with my slow internet to be able to download and play the game! Just 10 - 15 mins install and done!

yes it seems odd. they don't run off the disc because even though the drives are faster than PS3 Bluray drive (PS4 is 3x as fast!) the data can be transfered from the hard drive faster

what they should do is give you a code with the disc to enable a one time use code (one time activated I mean) option to play without the disc, without the code for example you would have to pay to be disc free for example that seems like a good idea! I think
