E3 start's today! Empty E3 start's today!

Post by Willow Mon Jun 09, 2014 10:01 pm

and so it begins!

will only be able to watch the Sony conference due to work, and that's at 2am tomorrow morning!

I'm expecting good things from Sony, MS and Nintendo

We will find out if the Halo master chief collection, and Crackdown 3 are real

For me I want to see Uncharted 4 and find out if Shenmue 3 will be announced

We need more new console only games at the moment. Once the hardcore have bought Xbox One's and PS4's you need casuals and that means games you can only buy on new systems. They wont buy a PS4 or Xbox One for new versions of Mass Effect, Halo 1,2 or 3 or GTA5 or even Titanfall.
It requires new games built on the new systems not being held back by last generation technology and memory limitations

If only half the rumours are true E3 could be a great show. MS got its bit of news about Kinect out the way early a few weeks ago so it did not overshadow E3 and the games themselves which is a very good move. I have been impressed by the new head of Xbox Phil Spencer he seems to be listening to gamers and has been fixing mistakes make by the previous head of Xbox

Let the games begin!

Crackdown 2 was not as good as the first, but I hope the 3rd game is a return to form. Halo collection should be good, obviously releasing to please people while they have the time to get Halo 5 out which is good as they can delay the game if needed (I do not want to see a rushed out Halo 5 turn into BF4!)

Sunset Overdrive I do like the look of, I should now mention the company Insomniac makes some of my favourite games on PS, the Ratchet and Clank games, however they also put out the Resistance games (A Gears clone that were ok but nothing special)

Also looking forward to the new Tomb Raider. I am a big fan of the series and last years game which I have completed on (deep breath) PC, 360, Xbox One and PS4 and when I have time on the PS3 (I have it as a plus title)

probably spend the next few days going through all the info on the new games!

Post by Willow Tue Jun 10, 2014 11:03 pm

was watching the Sony conference last night from 2am to 4am and it was great

The order 1886 looks great, http://www.computerandvideogames.com/467206/new-the-order-1886-gameplay-video/

Little Big Planet 3 was announced http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/2014-06-10-sony-announces-littlebigplanet-3-for-playstation-4
you can use downloads from previous game it's has a bit of content 8.7 million of it!  Very Happy

Magica 2 was announced as well (have the 1st one on steam) http://www.computerandvideogames.com/467220/magicka-2-set-for-ps4-and-pc-release/

Ratchet 1 is to be remade for PS4 as well as a Ratchet and Clank Movie http://www.computerandvideogames.com/467214/ratchet-clank-coming-to-ps4-movie-trailer-also-released/

and how can we forget Uncharted 4 http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/2014-06-10-nathan-drake-returns-in-uncharted-4-a-thiefs-end

and PS4 last of us is out next month! all this from the first day as well! You will likely see loads of extra bits announced over the week

and of course big multi format games such as

GTA5 for PS4, PC and XBO http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/2014-06-10-gta-v-is-coming-to-ps4-this-autumn

Batman Arkham knight http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/2014-06-10-watch-five-minutes-of-arkham-knight-gameplay it looked amazing on the PS conference

and loads of other stuff rather a lot in one post!

Looks like which format you get there is plenty of games to choose from. Although I will say I prefer PS4 exclusives, Ratchet and Clank, LBP3 and Uncharted are more my style than Halo (still not finished Halo ODST, Reach and 4 yet!)

Although I will most likely get the Halo collection just to play Halo 2 online as it was the first proper online game I played on Xbox, I wonder if the XBO has the extra maps that were released with the PC version?

and lets not forget the classic PC game Grim Fandango http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/2014-06-10-after-over-15-years-grim-fandango-finally-comes-to-consoles which I really want! Have the game on PC don't think it works with newer versions of windows though  Crying or Very sad

Didn't watch the Sony conference but caught up with most of the info from it now.

Batman looks like it will be really good. Same as Far cry 4, really promising. Main thing that came out from the Sony one though is that GTA5 is finally coming out on PC! FINALLY!!!

Will definitely be getting an Xbox One again, probably around the time of the Halo Collection. Will also pick up GTA5 on XO and also on PC purely because of the modding community which will make it so much more fun, not that it isn't fun already!

the Halo collection serves 2 purposes, one to give people a taste of Halo while they are working on 5 (I don't want to see a rush job on it like BF4!) and introduce new players to the series. so a win win, plus it has 4000 gamerscore! I would imagine 1000 per game

GTA5 has been rumoured for a while. The last consoles were really underpowered for the game so to see it on Xbox One / PS4 and PC is great, lets hope the PC version is optimised and not like Watch Dogs which on a £6000 PC with 4 yes 4 Titans could only run at 1080p at between 30 and 50 fps!

I think the first 6 months of these new consoles have been rough, a load of rushed games out for launch day badly optimised (Ghosts) or unfinished (BF4) E3 seems to be restoring my confidence in them.

I'm glad Batman is Xbox One / PS4 / PC only they had to abandon last gen now to push games forward.

By the time you have a new Xbox One loads of improvements will be made to Xbox One including the new achievements app which looks great!
Basicly we are now starting to get the systems we should have had day one!

Looking back on it, I really should have waited to get a console. To begin with they just weren't up to the standards which they should have been for the money you were spending. Now the price has gone down on the Xbox at least with the exclusion of Kinect and both systems have had features added on which make it a lot better then when they first launched.

When I get it I will be getting Halo, FIFA and GTA5. Plus when they come out, Forza Horizon 2, Crackdown 3 for definite. These are all the games that made me want to get a console again. Halo was definitely the game that got me to decide though!

I think the E3 show was good this year, not many surprises thanks to leaks. But at least a few more games added to my must buy list for all systems. Shame so many are released in 2015!

You will see Sony and MS copy each others best features, which I suppose is a good thing if it means a better system for which ever system you buy

I'm looking forward to Forza Horizon 2 as well! Forza 5 left a bad taste in my mouth its the only one I did not really like, keep saying I will retry it. It did not have as many tracks or cars, obviously rushed out for launch.

we are now moving away from those rushed to get out the door releases and onto titles that have been optimised a bit better as well as some new console / pc only titles.

resolutiongate continues to rumble but I always say. HD was classed (not full HD, just HD) as 720p, a LOT if not a majority of PS3 and 360 games ran well below that at 600p or LESS! which means they were not even HD. Which means already this gen is much more HD than the last. 900p on games like Watch Dogs on PS4 looks great, thats better resolution than what 95% of 360 / PS3 games?

Will be getting Sunset Overdrive on XBO looks great, Crackdown 3 as well. and obviously the new Batman (in 2015!)
So like I said loads of stuff for each console

and on PS4, obviously The last of Us and Uncharted 4!

then there is the new Tomb Raider as well! Really enjoyed the one that was released last year

Yeah this years E3 took my by surprise. Leading up to it I wasn't that excited as there didn't seem to be much we didn't already know about from either last years E3 or from leaks but all of conferences seemed to do reasonably well!

Like I've already said, the MS conference with Halo, Forza and Crackdown has convinced me to get another XOne. Will hope to get one for around the £250 range if I'm lucky!
