EA access sub service
In effect a PS+ type deal allowing you to subscribe for access to games and such
http://www.computerandvideogames.com/472713/ea-reveals-xbox-one-subscription-service-ea-access/
starts off with games I already own except Madden so not worth it for me as of yet
First they copy Steam with the awful Origin service that PC gamers hate and now a clone of PS+
I agree with Sony on this one http://www.gameinformer.com/b/news/archive/2014/07/30/sony-ea-access-doesn_2700_t-represent-good-value-to-the-playstation-gamer.aspx
I don't want to be buying a PS+ type service for EVERY big 3rd party developer, once EA gets its foot in the door what is to stop Ubisoft or Activision ect. EA will probably stop putting stuff on Plus now I guess just like when they threw a wobbler on Steam and pulled all the new products off steam. And created Origin which to this day is still shit! And PC gamers still hate Ubisoft's Uplay service as well!
I have all of EA's best games or had some free on Plus like Dead Space 3 so can't see the point of it. Maybe for people who don't have the older EA games I guess. To be fair EA may improve the offer of the service over time we will see

Re: EA access sub service
just an update the price its £3.99 a month of £19.99 for a year! since its only for EA's games, they don't need to price it as high as say plus or Games with gold where they will be doing deals with loads of companies!
for newer users or people who don't have certain games this will be very good value. Peggle 2 is my favourite out of the list so far just as good as the first game
Say someone buys an Xbox One when EA Access is out they can get BF4, Fifa, Peggle 2 ect. While you will most likely not own the games and just rent them like plus or Games with gold (Xbox One) you will likely have access to them while subscribed.
I keep hearing terms banded around about Netflix for console games ect, and it has made me wonder. Both MS and Sony have subscriptions to allow people some free (well not really I suppose) games it has made me think where this will lead in future. Maybe a true Netflix type deal?
Maybe £10 a month for unlimited access to games on a digital store (they would likely charge more for the ability to actually choose from what you want rather than deals worked out by MS or Sony with devs)
Either way Plus, GwG, EA Access could be the start of the "digital future" we keep getting told about, and because you cant trade these games in, developers will always get a cut of the income. Quite a thought!
