as for windows 8 I did it as an upgrade from windows 7 part of the £25 deal.

Really should have bought a full copy not an upgrade, its always best to start fresh. Probably do a reinstall next year with a fresh copy of 8.1

I upgraded for 25 too as had an issue with windows 7 bud. So we are both in the same boat. But do far no issues with mine lol

well I just updated my graphics drivers, uninstalled the old ones. They were lets just say a few months old

been playing through one of my favourite games of ALL time Half Life 2 the other day after Steam added trading cards to them, picked up a card in the game already!

finally did the wii to wii u transfer today, for various reasons, you can buy wii U versions of virtua console games cheaper if you bought them on the wii.

Super Mario World that was released in 1992 and what I got with my SNES in 1992 was cheaper, looks better than playing the wii version obviously upscaled and no stretched screen as the game was not wide screen

I have put a post of the support forums from where I bought my laptop from, I'm rapidly beginning to believe its a hardware issue with the graphics chip. Must have crashed 4 or 5 times this morning, sometimes screen goes blank them comes back on and said the graphics driver crashed and has been recovered?

I will hopefully find out soon if its a serious issue or not

I have a suspicion it may be Internet Explorer 10 that's crashing it as that's what I'm using when it goes, games play alright though. Been wondering if I should try the windows 8.1 test that can be downloaded now for free, and so will the finished update for windows 8 users

Thats where your ultimately going wrong willow! IE. Download chrome if you havent already, much better and very rarely crashes on me, even on my phone!

I have Chrome on my phone as well. Probably been too loyal to Internet Explorer over these years (been using it since 1998)

I did notice that when the crashes were happening its when I was using IE. Did not really crash when using steam or playing a game via steam.
It does bring windows down for a bit then it restarts the graphics driver. I think IE uses the GPU for acceleration.

Windows 8.1 has Internet Explorer 11 wonder if that is an improvement?

I only use chrome on my PC. Don't really surf on my phone.

the problems started getting worse when I press the shortcut on the desktop for the libraries, I cant get into my documents or music ect directly

I have created a new user account, I suspect now it may be my user profile that could be corrupt, it's happened before on windows 7.

Steam cloud would not work on my laptop the last few days.
