next ms console Xbox 8?

It may be the next Xbox could be called Xbox 8? Seems daft well, the new version of windows is 8 and so will be the number of the next gen windows phones. Not because they are on the 8th version of phones but version 8 of the windows os. this could be a way of showing what systems windows 8 runs on, even if the mobile xbox versions are cut down from the pc os (with bits not needed removed)

Firstly, i am a massive gamer (as you all know) but i dont think that i will be buying another console on launch again,

My reasons are:

1) The games that are on the current systems are so good that i am perfectly happy with them.

2) The price of consoles go down dramatically after the first 12 months of a console launch.

3) Purely financially. If the rumors are true, both the new Xbox and Playstation are due out next year. You would be looking at roughly £800 on consoles, let alone new games. There is NO WAY that i could afford them.


I shall stick with my PS3 and 360 for as long as games are being made for them. Next Gen will have to wait for a while.

Im not sure if I will get them straight away at launch but will buy the Xbox shortly afterwards I think? The new ps I won't bother with - my ps3 only really gets used for blueray nowadays (mainly due to the crap comms system compared to Xbox).
