that's good but the speed increase will hardly be noticeable in real terms though, if they had pushed it up to 2GHz + then that would be different

Am I the only one shocked at the low CPU speeds on these next gen systems? 1.6 Ghz down from 3.2 on current gen?
I know it happens on PC as well 6 core Intel cpu's generally run slower clock speed wise than 4 core. I suspect more cores means more heat so that's probably why they clock lower

would of thought heat comes into it and more cores to spread the load, so maybe less need for faster cores.
