XBO OS and Live a "mess on launch"
I'm sorry to have to post what seems like a negative post about XBO but this info has started to appear online, if it is true, I hope not! News is not all that good for Sony either
http://www.nowgamer.com/news/2136234/xbox_one_os_xbox_live_is_a_mess_wont_be_working_for_months.html
Watch Reviewtech video on MS and Sony https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U6h9l5Gb5hE&feature=youtu.be
Cod Ghosts 720p on next gen systems? Dead Rising 3 not the game it was supposed to be because of glitchy Xbox Live?
and Watch Dogs delayed due to PSN and XBL in a very poor state at launch!
I knew when we heard about the day one patch for PS4 something was up, looks like the software is not ready for the next gen systems yet.
Also claimed in reviewtech video is PS4 was to have DRM as well and is to be patched out. In honesty I believe they were to have DRM and changed course when MS had the bad press
I hope this is all a load of rubbish, it sounds bad if it is not. Could damage sales as well if they are really are problems on this scale

Re: XBO OS and Live a "mess on launch"
the now gamer article has been updated, Phil Spencer said anyone can post stuff on the net which is true.
would not be at all surprised if this is someone trying to cause problems.
I'm going to reserve judgement until these consoles are launched its not that long now, anyone who posts bad stories on twitter or elsewhere is bound to get loads of press.
I can't see how XBL can be so good on 360 and then they release a sloppy version on XBO, does not make any sense to me!

Re: XBO OS and Live a "mess on launch"
that guy from review tech USA has really opened pandoras box http://www.dualshockers.com/2013/10/28/fud-video-on-ps4-and-xbox-one-by-reviewtechusa-is-complete-bogus-heres-some-damning-evidence/
saying a game had to run at 720p because of the network, sounds odd to me!
why do I get the impression someone is doing all this for a laugh
remember Rich from ReviewTech USA is a PC gamer more than a console gamer , I've seen no end to anti console videos on his youtube channel

Re: XBO OS and Live a "mess on launch"
Well I seriously doubt any of those two companies would let their consoles down by not sorting out their online infrastructure. If anything think it would be Sony having issues, as they are implementing some new stuff for their service (party chat, etc).
Had my test drive on the xbox one yesterday and was immensely impressed. The areas themselves were so hot you were sweating (and that was with two massive air con machines working overtime), and add to that the consoles were all belting out their games the consoles seemed really cool. They were XDK's so didn't really get to see much of an OS, but what I did see seemed fluid. Forza 5 was amazing, and apparently they are using a build of the game from May, so am expecting this to be even BETTER come launch.
Dead Rising 3 was super fun, took a fairly long time to load up but not sure if this is down to it being the demo and resetting, but after the initial load there was no loading times which was nice.
Killer instinct was fun, I am not a fighting game fan, but will probably pick this up as it is free to play.
Battlefield 4 left me alot more impressed than I was with the 360 beta. Now when you die and you are on your spawn screen, if you want to spawn on a squad mate you click on him and you get a little camera just like you used to have n GRAW and you see what he sees, so you can try to avoid spawning and dying.
also spotted a box at the top of my screen that was asking for them to recalibrate kinect. I spoke to one of the guys, and apparently kinnect will detect your head movements, so if you slant your head left it will make peek round a corner. not sure how it will disinguish between you just slanting your head, and doing it for the game. but would be nifty if they pull it off.
Played the gladiator part of the game on RYSE, very enjoyable and gory. No QTE but when the enemies flash you hold your right trigger and that enables a takedown/finishing move. This did seem context sensitive as one minute I am cutting a guys rm off, the next I am kicking one off of a tower, so it uses the environment so there is a good mix of moves.
Fifa 14 was ok, but never been a big fan of footie games, players looked good and the player intelligence seemed much improved.
Also had a quick go on zoo tycoon and loved that lol

Re: XBO OS and Live a "mess on launch"
Been looking forward to what you think of XBO
Forza 5 is the game I want to play most atm. Battlefield 4 I always expected to be good, the game probably stretched the 360 to the limit and maybe the 360 / PS3 could not really cope with the game
I was a big fan of Killer Instinct on the arcade / SNES I even got a T shirt with my copy on SNES and a KI CD! I may play the game, I read if you pay for the whole lot of the game you get the original KI arcade game?
I think this whole issue of the systems is just a few people going on, I know some of these reviewers don't like the fact they wont get free systems to test or that PS4 wont allow them to upload to Youtube. Unless I have these problems myself on my system I would say we are hearing sour grapes form people, who can claim "anonymous sources" to say anything

Think your right Willow. wish I could try out a PS4 but not sure if anywhere is letting us do that yet.
