"Xbox Off" feature
Oh dear, this could go very wrong for a lot of people :L

I like the quick snapping and changing between the different activities but the only thing that I dont really like is the "Xbox Off" feature. Will probably be a way to turn it off though.

Re: "Xbox Off" feature
probably in the options, the voice commands look good, if that is not fixed that's great, what happens if you are playing an online game and you say things and xbox thinks you are talking to it? and can it understand my northern accent?
I would assume you can disable commands while in a multiplayer title or party chat otherwise it could get confusing. Until we get the XBO and try I don't think we will know

It doesn't show you on the video as I guess they wanted to end it on a quick note, but MS have said the system will prompt you once before turning off.
Also if it is your profile signed in kinect will recognise your voice and the voice of others so no one else in the room can turn it off on you.

Pretty sure it is sophisticated enough to tell the difference. But I am curious, what kind of commands do you feel the console would confuse with something you say in an online game?Willow wrote:probably in the options, the voice commands look good, if that is not fixed that's great, what happens if you are playing an online game and you say things and xbox thinks you are talking to it? and can it understand my northern accent?

Personally though the video is impressive, it is a little too quick for my liking and would liked to of seen a longer slower video with someone in a room. I was just thinking yesterday I was a little worried how we have heard nothing regarding the operating system, and not sure a video that is1 minute long satisfies my fears.

Re: "Xbox Off" feature
i suspect it will work the same as my Samsung TV voice command - the trigger for the voice command will be 'Xbox' (i presume) - my TV is the same, i have to say 'hi TV' and then the command (although you can change that prefix so maybe it will be the same with the Xbox) - saying 'switch to TV' wont be recognised but 'Xbox, switch to TV' will.

Re: "Xbox Off" feature
Yeah you need to say "Xbox" before every command. Until the console actually comes out and we can see what is going on with all of the different commands and how they work we can only speculate what will happen. Cant wait though!!
